Haag bei Treuchtlingen is a district of the town of Treuchtlingen in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .
Geographical location
The village is 3.5 kilometers southwest of Treuchtlingen. About half a kilometer west of the village is the Hirschberg ( 529 m above sea level ), half a kilometer south of the Röthelhöhe and three quarters of a kilometer southwest of the Galgenberg . The ramparts of a medieval castle, which is said to have been destroyed by Ludwig the Strict in 1263, lie on a ledge in the valley towards Möhren . Communal roads lead to Steinbruch and Rehlingen .
history
It is assumed that the place was founded in the 12th century by the Benedictine convent of St. Walburg . He is first mentioned by name in 1214 as Gütlein zu Hage , which was owned by the Marshals von Pappenheim .
The place name is derived from Germ. * Haga , which means a "enclosed place". 1360 the goods belonged to the monastery of St. Walburg, while the marshals only at that time Bailiwick right exercised.
In 1824 there were seven residential buildings in Haag, now there are twelve.
With the community edict in the 19th century, Haag bei Treuchtlingen became a politically independent community, to which the towns of Blockhaus , Dickmühle , Höfen , Hürth , Lohhof , Mattenmühle , Neufang , Neuherberg , Rutzenhof , Schürmühle and Steinbruch belonged. Around 1900 the quarry was incorporated into Treuchtlingen. On January 1, 1972, the community was incorporated into Treuchtlingen as part of the Bavarian regional reform , except for the districts of Höfen, Lohhof and Neuherberg, which came to Langenaltheim on the same day .
