Höfen is part of the municipality of Langenaltheim in the district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen in Central Franconia . The hamlet is around 509 meters above sea level and has 19 inhabitants (as of 2020).
The place is located in the south of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in the Altmühltal nature park , northwest of Langenaltheim on a meadow near the edge of a forest in the Weißenburger Alb , a ridge of the Franconian Alb . In the West, the place is Neuherberg to the north Rutzenhof . A road connects the place with the surrounding places and the state road 2217 and with the federal road 2 running south .
In 1846 there were six houses, five families and twenty souls in courtyards . In 1875 the 27 residents lived in 13 buildings. They owned a total of 8 horses and 48 head of cattle. Before the municipal reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, Höfen was a district of Haag near Treuchtlingen .
