Mauthaus is a district of the municipality Langenaltheim in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The desert is at an altitude of around 496 meters above  sea ​​level and has 7 inhabitants (as of 1987).

The place is located in the south of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in the Altmühltal nature park , southwest of Langenaltheim on a meadow near the edge of the forest in the Weißenburger Alb , a ridge of the Franconian Alb . In the east is the place Büttelbronn . The toll house is on Bundesstraße 2 . The former Palatinate-Bavarian customs, toll and customs inn with the address Am Mauthaus 1, a hipped roof building from 1788, was registered by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation under the number D-5-77-148-43 as an architectural monument in the Bavarian Monument List.
