Schmarrmühle is a district of the city of Treuchtlingen in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .

The wasteland is located south of the Treuchtlinger core city and is spatially merged with the place in the north. It is traversed by the Möhrenbach, which flows not far to the northeast into the Altmühl .

The mill is mentioned for the first time in 1504. In 1596 Hans Mack was the owner of the mill; he also owned the nearby Schürmühle . In 1642 the desert was called Nöchersmühl , in 1732 it was called Nähermühl , and in 1768 as Schmarnmühl . The name can be traced back to the word schmarrn , which means dirty spot and probably means the swampy ground in the area.
