Donatus Gottlieb Menzel

Gottlieb Donatus Menzel (* 1770 in Breslau ; † April 6, 1838 ibid) was a German local politician and Lord Mayor of the city of Breslau .

Life

Menzel studied law. From 1806 to 1812 he was a member of the municipal administration of his hometown as a syndic. He then became mayor and, after Kospoth's death, at the beginning of 1833, mayor of Breslau.

During his term of office the implementation of the Prussian edict on the equality of the Jewish citizens fell .

Menzel was buried in the Great Cemetery in Breslau.
