life and career

Gil Junge was born in New York City in 1954. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin's Radio, TV, and Film School , he moved to Hollywood in the early 1980s . He started as a television producer in 1982, but soon expanded his field of activity in the mid-1980s to include the role of director with numerous works in the field of popular TV series. For the episode The Puppy of the US series Ellen , he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 1997 and received another nomination from the Directors Guild of America in 1998 .

In 1999 he successfully made the leap to the cinema with the comedy 10 Things I Hate About You , starring Heath Ledger , Julia Stiles and Joseph Gordon-Levitt . The success of the film led to its own television series with the same title in 2009 and 2010 , it had the size of 20 episodes, in which Junge also took a seat on the director's chair. In 2001 the comedy Knight Jamal - A Black Comedy with the cast Martin Lawrence , Marsha Thomason and Tom Wilkinson was created . In 2004 he directed the film If Only as a modern romantic tragicomedy with elements of the mystical. Jennifer Love Hewitt , Paul Nicholls and again actor Tom Wilkinson played the leading roles . Junge realized the film as a British-American co-production and, in addition to his work as a director, also acted as a producer. The film music was written by the English composer Adrian Johnston .

Following on from the great international commercial success of 10 Things I Hate About You , a production called 10 Things I Hate About Life is in preparation for 2015.
