The Marienkapelle is a listed chapel in Oberstetten , a suburb of Erlenmoos in the Biberach district in Upper Swabia .

description

The chapel, built in 1883/84, is located in the center of Oberstetten, a place between Ochsenhausen and Steinhausen an der Rottum . The single-nave, east-facing and beaver-tail-roofed building has a segmented choir . Instead of a tower, a roof turret with a hood and arched sound openings for the bells was attached to the western end of the gable roof .

The frescoing of the church was carried out in the stencil painting style of that time , which emphasizes the individual architectural parts of the chapel. The furnishings include a sculpture of a Madonna and Child in the high altar and a crucifix . There are stained glass windows in the choir .

The chapel was extensively renovated in the 1980s.
