The Lady Chapel

The Marienkapelle in Rohrbach am Gießhübel , a district of Eppingen in the district of Heilbronn in northern Baden-Württemberg , is a Catholic chapel from the 19th century.

history

The Marienkapelle was built by the Catholic community from September 1859 under Pastor Franz Wilhelm Baden, after extensive renovations had already taken place on the local rectory and church . The shell was built at the end of 1859. The building also received a tower and a small bell. In 1860 a used altar was purchased in Karlsdorf , which was restored by the Seitz brothers in Külsheim . The inauguration of the chapel took place on June 16, 1861, the first mass there was held on October 29, 1861. The chapel was repainted in 1904 by the painter Hoch from Dilsberg.

The chapel outside the village repeatedly tempted children to mischief with the bell, so that around 1928 the field rifleman was ordered to protect the chapel, which Pastor Johann Albin Müller (1880–1939) wrote in the parish gazette as follows:

It rings so bright there in the chapel!
Suddenly on the spot at the speed of the wind
the contactor appears as quickly as lightning
,
seizes her by the collar and acted slyly , tanning the skins there by the chapel!
You can feel it on the camisole!

The chapel was renovated until 1977 with the help of the local population.
