Evangelical Church in Richen

The Evangelical Church in Richen , a district of Eppingen in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg , was built from 1842 to 1845. The church is located on Ittlinger Strasse and the corner of Berwanger Strasse. It is a protected cultural monument .

Since the old church , built in 1727, had become dilapidated and too small, the Protestant community planned a new building. The Protestant parish church was built in the neo-Romanesque style according to plans by Michael Bachmann. The inauguration took place on November 14, 1845.

The building made of local sandstone has a pointed arched neo-Romanesque portal . Above it rises a tall, slender tower with a six-sided pointed hood , which is crowned by a roof pommel with a cross. There are six narrow, ogival windows on each side of the eaves .
