Marilena Vlădărău

Marilena Vlădărău later Pereţeanu (* 16th August 1963 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian gymnast .

She did gymnastics at CSȘ Triumf Bucureşti and was a member of the Romanian national team from 1977. In 1978 she won the silver medal at the European Junior Championships on the uneven bars and the balance beam.

In the same year Vlădărău was used at the World Championships of the active. In Strasbourg she won with Nadia Comăneci , Emilia Eberle , Marilena Neacşu , Teodora Ungureanu and Anca Grigoraş behind the Soviet Union the silver medal in the team competition.

It achieved its greatest success in 1979. At the World Championships in Fort Worth, the Romanians (Nadia Comăneci, Rodica Dunca , Emilia Eberle, Melitta Rühn , Dumitrița Turner , Marilena Vlădărău) won the world title for the first time in gymnastics history. Then Vlădărău took part in international tournaments until 1981, but was not nominated for the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, and then ended her career.

After her resignation, Vlădărău remained in gymnastics and became a trainer at Triumf Bucureşti and international referee.
