biography
Robinson grew up in Hertfordshire , UK near the Elstree film studios, where his mother worked as a production assistant.
He later dangled through the London club scene with artists like Boy George , Steve Strange and Jeremy Healy. In 1983 the representative of a record company noticed him in his outfit with long blond dreadlocks. At that time Marilyn already had a few demo tapes, and his old friend Boy George was introducing him to the English press. Marilyn's debut single Calling Your Name was in the top ten of the English and Japanese charts for weeks. The following singles could not build on this success.
Robinson claims to have had a relationship with British musician and actor Gavin Rossdale for five years in the 1980s .
