Marina Frost

Marina Frost (born January 5, 1950 in Marne (Holstein) ) is a German administrative lawyer and former Vice President of the Humboldt University of Berlin .

Marina Frost completed her studies in law and political science in Göttingen , Marburg , Freiburg and Kiel in 1973 with the first and in 1975 with the second state examination. Subsequently, she worked as a judge at various local courts before going to Kiel University as a research assistant in 1978 , where she received her doctorate in 1980 . From 1980 to 1992 Frost worked at the Kiel University Clinic as a human resources officer , legal advisor and head of research. Between 1992 and 1997 she was Chancellor of the University of Hildesheim , in 1997 she moved to the University of Göttingen as Chancellor, where she was elected Vice President in 2002. In 2004 Frost went to Heidelberg University as Chancellor . In July 2011 she was elected Vice President for Budget at the Humboldt University in Berlin and took office on January 1, 2012, succeeding Frank Eveslage . On June 30, 2014, she resigned prematurely from this post for health reasons. On March 1, 2016, she became the administrative director of the Hertie School of Governance .

Frost is chair of the Federal Working Group on Service and Collective Bargaining Law for the German University Chancellors. Her main focus is the optimization of administrative processes as well as the autonomy and deregulation in personnel matters.
