Marina Saitō ( Japanese 斉 藤 真理 菜 , Saitō Marina ; born October 15, 1995 in Ibaraki Prefecture ) is a Japanese javelin thrower .
Athletic career
In 2017 she increased her best performance in the over 60 meters and thus qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with 60.86 meters in the qualification . A few weeks later she won the silver medal behind the Polish Marcelina Witek at the World Student Games in Taipei with a new personal best of 62.37 m . In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and came fourth there with a throw of 56.46 m. The following year she finished ninth at the Asian Championships in Doha with 52.40 m.
In 2018 Saito became the Japanese javelin throwing champion. She is a student teacher for physical education at Kokushikan University in Tokyo Prefecture .
