Valdemar Holbøll

Valdemar Kragh Holbøll (born December 14, 1871 in Frederiksberg , † June 19, 1954 in Copenhagen ) was Danish church minister in the Scavenius government during the time of the German occupation from 1942 to 1945 .

Valdemar Holbøll was the son of Major General Harald Holbøll and brother Aage Holbølls; his mother was Emma Oline Holbøll, née Kragh. His grandfather was the inspector of South Greenland, Carl Peter Holbøll . Valdemar Holbøll became a student at the Borgerdydskolen in Copenhagen in 1890 . In 1896 he graduated from law. In 1900 he became an assistant in the Ministry of Culture , where he became head of department in 1909, expedition secretary in 1910, and office manager in 1914. In 1916 he kept this position in the newly established Ministry of Churches .

From 1923 to 1942 Holbøll was head of department in the Ministry of Churches and was appointed Minister of Churches on November 9, 1942. He officially held this post until May 5, 1945.

Holbøll was buried in the Kirkegård garrison .
