Tove Fergo

Tove Fergo (born September 24, 1946 in Copenhagen - † October 4, 2015 ) was a Danish pastor and politician of the liberal Venstre party.

Fergo was born as the daughter of the sales representative ("Fuldmægtig") Svend Ole Andersen and his wife Elly Tove Andersen. She studied theology at the University of Copenhagen . There she completed her studies in 1972 as “cand. theol. " From 1973 she was pastor ("Sognepræst") at Simon Peters Kirke on the island of Amager .

Her political career began in local politics . From 1990 to 1998 she was a member of the Copenhagen City Council (Copenhagen Citizens' Representation, "Københavns Borgerrepræsentation"). From September 21, 1994 to February 8, 2005 she was a member of the Folketing , the Danish Parliament, for Venstre . In the 2005 Folketing election she was not re-elected as a member of parliament.

In the government of Anders Fogh Rasmussen I , she was Minister for Church Affairs ( Minister of Churches) from November 27, 2001 to February 18, 2005 under Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen .

Fergo was married to the theologian and pastor Peter Fergo. Since August 2015 she was released from her church service obligations due to illness; She died in early October 2015 at the age of 69.
