Marina Staden (born December 17, 1955 in Moscow , born Marina Milowidowa) is a former German volleyball player of Soviet descent.
Marina's father was a physical education teacher at a Moscow high school. Through him, Marina came to volleyball in 1967. She played for CSKA Moscow and won the title at the Junior European Championships in 1973 and 1975 with the Soviet youth national team. After more than 30 international A matches for the Soviet Union, she married the German high school teacher Hans Staden in 1977 and came to Germany. In 1979 she got German citizenship.
In Germany she first played for VC Schwerte , with whom she became German volleyball champion in 1978 and 1979 . She then moved to USC Münster , with which she won the German title in 1980 and 1981. Finally she switched to VfL Oythe . In 1980, 1981 and 1984 she was voted volleyball player of the year . At the European Championship in 1979 , Marina Staden made her debut in the German national team . In 1984 she took part with the national team at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles and finished sixth there. After 245 appearances for the German national team, Marina Staden ended her career at the end of 1984 after differences with national coach Andrzej Niemczyk .
