Naval Section Command North

The North Marine Section Command (MAKdo Nord) was set up on April 1, 1975 under the name Marine Section Command Baltic Sea . It was a support association of the German Navy with location Kiel . In the course of the reorganization of the Navy after reunification, it was renamed on April 1, 1994 in Naval Section Command North . It was dissolved on June 30, 2001.

Mission and organization

The new Baltic Sea Section Command was formed from the former Baltic Sea Division , which in turn emerged from the first Baltic Sea Section Command. It was under the Naval Support Command . Its tasks had been significantly reduced compared to its two predecessor organizations and were essentially limited to the management of logistics facilities in the Baltic Sea area. The basic logistical tasks of the Baltic Sea Division and the management of telecommunications associations were transferred to the responsibility of other bodies. As a result, the new MAKdo Ostsee / Nord was no longer managed by a flag officer , but by a sea ​​captain .

Marine Transport Company North

The Naval Transport Battalion 1 was disbanded on October 1, 1998. In its place came the Marine Transport Company North (MTrspKp Nord), which was set up in Kiel. She was directly subordinate to the Naval Section Command North. On July 1, 2001, it was subordinated to the West Marine Section Command and dissolved on June 30, 2002.

On June 30, 2001, the Naval Section Command North was dissolved. Like the Naval Transport Company North, the bases changed under the Naval Section Command West.
