Naval Section Command North Sea
The North Sea Marine Section Command (MAKdo Nordsee) was a support association of the German Navy , which was set up on April 3, 1956 and transferred to the North Sea Marine Division on January 1, 1967 . The location of the MAKdo North Sea was initially Wilhelmshaven , from 1962 Sengwarden .
Mission and organization
The North Sea naval section command was initially under the command of the fleet base and from 1965 to the fleet command . It was responsible for setting up and managing the facilities of the fleet base with bases, depots, telecommunication and location services in the area of the North Sea. In addition, there were temporarily floating associations with security and logistical tasks. Parts of these associations were stationed on the Baltic Sea. The organization and subordination of these agencies and associations was subject to various changes during the establishment of the Federal Navy.

History of subordinate units
Marine Transport Battalion 2
On October 1, 1964, it was in the Ebkeriege barracks . in Wilhelmshaven the marine transportation battalion 2 (MarTrspBtl 2) having a staff and supply company (in stationed, three transport companies, a serious repair company Elsfleth ) positioned and an envelope company.
The battalion was initially under the Naval Section Command North Sea. On January 1, 1967, the subordination to the North Sea Marine Division and on April 1, 1975 to the newly established North Sea Marine Section Command, which was renamed the West Marine Section Command on April 1, 1994. On September 30, 1998, the battalion was disbanded. The Marine Transport Company West was set up in its place .
Marine material depot 2
The naval material depot II was set up on July 15, 1957 in Wilhelmshaven. On April 1, 1966, the Valentin branch was established in Bremen-Farge, which was converted into a partial depot on February 1, 1971. On April 1, 1968, the name was changed to Marinematerialdepot 2 and on April 1, 1994 the subordination to the Naval Section Command West changed.
On July 1, 2002, the naval depots were subordinated to the Armed Forces Base (SKB) organization area, where they were assigned to Air Force Supply Regiment 5 until the new target structure was adopted.
Naval ammunition depots
There were three naval action depots in the area of the North Sea naval sector command:
- Marine ammunition depot 2 , set up in 1957 in Tannenhausen (today Aurich )
- Marine ammunition depot 4 , set up in 1958 in Schweinbrück with sub-unit Den Helder (from 1999)
- Marine ammunition depot 6 , set up in Oxstedt near Cuxhaven in 1963 .
On July 1, 2002, the naval depots were subordinated to the Armed Forces Base (SKB) organization area, where they were assigned to Air Force Supply Regiment 5 until the new target structure was adopted.
Naval Music Corps North Sea
The North Sea Marine Music Corps was created in 1956 by splitting the Baltic Sea Marine Music Corps , which had existed in Eckernförde since June 1, 1956 . It was then stationed in Wilhelmshaven and was closed on March 31, 2014.
