Mario Cospito

Mario Cospito (born August 1, 1959 in Policoro ) is an Italian diplomat who has been Ambassador to Stockholm since April 27, 2017 .

Education

On March 12, 1984, he graduated from the University of Pisa with a degree in political science . In 1985 he completed a preparatory course with Cesare Alfieri in Florence and entered the foreign service.

Life

From September 1987 to August 1991 he was consul in Durban and was able to observe the collapse of the apartheid regime in South Africa . From 1991 to 1994 he was first class delegation secretary in Copenhagen . From 1995 to 1996 he dealt with economic cooperation with the successor states of the Council for Mutual Economic Aid . In 1997 he worked on EU structural funds for trans-European transport corridors. From 1999 to September 11, 2001, he was Counselor in Ottawa .

From August 2008 to January 2013 he was ambassador to Bucharest .

From 2014 to 2016 he dealt with economic issues and coordinated the energy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Italy) .

On April 27, 2017, Carl XVI received him . Gustaf on receiving his letter of accreditation as ambassador in Stockholm.

He has written several articles on the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the International Criminal Court and European integration.

He is married to Franca Mastroluisi and has two children.
