Mario Franco

Mario Franco (born February 10, 1946 in Naples ) is an Italian short film director .

Life

As a creative artist, Franco became interested in cinema at an early age; In 1969 he founded the first cinema in Naples for essay films , wrote numerous treatments and experimented with new forms in short films. Franco was also active in the musical field and theater; Collaborations took place with Antonio Neiwiller , Enzo Moscato and Pappi Corsicato .

In his short films he portrayed Andy Warhol and Joseph Beuys ; In 1983 he released a feature film based on his own script. Metropoli remained his only long film.

Franco holds a professorship in mass media at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli .
