Mario Gerber

Mario Gerber (born January 8, 1981 in Rum in Tirol ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). Since March 2018 he has been a member of the Tyrolean state parliament .

Life

After primary school in Igls and secondary school in Wilten, Mario Gerber attended the commercial academy in Innsbruck in 1995/96 . He then completed an apprenticeship as a hotel and catering assistant. He has been working as a tourism and hotelier since 1999, initially as an employee in the family-owned Gerber Hotels in Kühtai , later as their managing director and partner.

He is a member of the regional management of the Tyrolean Economic Association , since 2016 he has been chairman of the hotel industry in the Tyrol Chamber of Commerce . On March 28, 2018 he was in the constituent state parliament session of the XVII. Legislative term as Member of the Tyrolean Parliament sworn in , where he served on the committee for Housing and Transport, the Financial Supervisory and the Committee on Economic, tourism, energy and technology. He is the area spokesman for tourism and business in the Tyrolean state parliament.

He holds the position of deputy chairman at the Innsbruck Tourist Office. In September 2018 he became deputy chairman of the hotel industry association in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ). In April 2019 he was elected chairman of the Innsbruck-Stadt Wirtschaftsbund. In June 2020 he was elected deputy chairman of the tourism and leisure sector of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce for the period of office until 2025, with Robert Seeber becoming chairman .
