Mario Siegfried Pecher (born July 15, 1962 in Zwickau ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After completing school education, Pecher completed vocational training with a high school diploma as an electrician. From 1982 to 1985 he studied communications engineering. After receiving his degree as a university engineering economist with the rank of lieutenant , Pecher entered active service in the NVA in 1985 . A year later he resigned as a lieutenant. Until 1988 he worked as an electrician and dispatcher and then until 1991 as a software engineer for an electrical system construction company in Zwickau.

In 1990 he joined the SPD and from 1991 worked as managing director of the SPD sub-district Aue / Zwickau. Between 1990 and 1995, Pecher was a member of the Zwickau city council and has been a member since 2009. Since 2009 he has also been a member of the Zwickau district council. From 1996 to 2013 Pecher was chairman of the Zwickau housing cooperative.

In 2004 he was elected for the first time for the SPD via the state list in the Saxon state parliament. Mario Pecher was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. He was a member of the Budget and Finance Committee and the Election Review Committee. He was also a deputy member of the Committee on Economics and Transport. Pecher was the financial and transport policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.

At the state election conference of the SPD Saxony on January 11, 2014 to compile the state list for the state elections in 2014, Pecher was voted 15th. The list proposal put forward by state chairman Martin Dulig put Pecher in 7th place. He was defeated by the Dresden city council Albrecht Pallas in a candidate for a fight .

In a fight for 14th place on the list for the 2019 state election, Pecher lost to Irena Rudolph-Kokot from Leipzig on February 2, 2019. He then decided not to run for other places on the list and consequently resigned from the state parliament at the end of the legislative period.

Private

Pecher has two children and lived with his son in the Zwickau district of Eckersbach until 2019. He has been married to the CDU member of the state parliament Kerstin Nicolaus since 2014 and lives in Hartmannsdorf.

Mario Pecher sued his mother Waltraud because she did not want to give up a restaurant that he had owned since 2014. This family quarrel led to a police operation and eviction in December 2017. In January 2020, he had his parents evicted from a house he owned in Eckersbach.
