Maris Mägi (born August 11, 1987 in Tartu ) is an Estonian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter distance .

Career

She competed in her first international competition in 2003 when she was eighth at the European Junior Athletics Championships in Tampere . At the 2004 Junior World Championships in Athletics in Grosseto , however, she failed in the preliminary stages. Her first competition in the senior division was the European Athletics Indoor Championships 2005 in Madrid , where she was also eliminated in the preliminary stages. In 2007 she won the Estonian Indoor Championships over 400 meters.

At the European Athletics Championships in 2010 , she reached 11th place in the run-up and thus narrowly missed the qualification for the final.

She currently holds the Estonian indoor record over 400 m with 52.98 s, which she set on January 23, 2010 at a competition in Vienna . Her personal best in the 400-meter run (open air) is 52.68 s, set on July 18, 2010 in Tallinn .
