Marisa Abegg (born March 14, 1987 in Anchorage , Alaska ) is a former American soccer player .
Career
society
Abegg was drafted by WPS participant FC Gold Pride before the 2009 season and played six league games in her first professional season. The following year she ran for the league rivals Washington Freedom , for which she was not used. From 2011 to 2013 Abegg played for the DC United Women and the Gulf Coast Texans in the second-rate W-League and Women's Premier Soccer League, respectively .
On July 31, 2013, the last day before the end of the transfer window, NWSL participant Washington Spirit announced that they had signed Abegg. The franchise reacted to the injury-related loss of several defensive players before the last games of the regular season . Abegg made her league debut on the same day as a substitute against Western New York Flash . At the beginning of 2014, she announced her retirement from professional sport.

Abegg was a member of the US U-20 and U-23 national teams.
