Marius Žaliūkas (born November 10, 1983 in Kuršėnai ) is a Lithuanian football player .

Career

Žaliūkas started his career at FK Inkaras Kaunas. In its first season, the club was fifth in the first division. In 2003 he played a year under-class at Inkaras before moving to FBK Kaunas in 2004 . You immediately became champions as well as cup and Supercup winners. From January 2005 he was under contract with FK Šilutė, with whom he reached sixth place. In 2006 he returned to Kaunas , where he stayed for six months before moving to Heart of Midlothian in Scotland in the summer of 2006 . Before that he played with Kaunas in the UEFA Cup qualification against Portadown FC from Northern Ireland and Randers FC from Denmark .

The Lithuanian made his debut in the Scottish top division on August 26, 2006 against Inverness Caledonian Thistle . The game was won 4-1. He scored his first goal on December 2, 2006 against FC St. Mirren . At the end of its first season, the club finished fourth. After eighth place in 2007/08, you qualified for the international competition with third place in 2008/09. In the Europa League season 2009/10 he came on two missions and one goal. They finished sixth in the championship. Žaliūkas won the Scottish Cup final against Hibernian Edinburgh in the Edinburgh Derby in the 2011/12 season with the Hearts . From 2013 to 2014 he played in England for Leeds United before moving to Glasgow Rangers for whom he played until August 2015.

For Lithuania Žaliūkas has played 24 times so far. He made his debut in 2005.
