Marius Beckmann (* 1993 ) is a German organist , improviser and composer .

Life

Beckmann received his first music lessons at the age of 5 and initially studied church music in Düsseldorf as well as organ improvisation and orchestral conducting in Paris . After working in Bonn and Troyes , he has been organist at St. Joseph in Kassel-Rothenditmold since 2018 . In November 2019 he was appointed full-time church musician at St. Georg and titular organist of the Koulen organ of St. Sebastian in Augsburg . An activity as a concert organist (concerts in St. Sulpice (Paris) and Trinité , Luxembourg and Konstantinbasilika Trier , among others ), especially in the field of organ improvisation, round off his artistic work. Beckmann deals with the works of lesser-known French and Belgian organ composers such as Camille Jacquemin , Ermend Bonnal , Paul de Maleingreau and René Blin . Occasionally he also appears as a conductor. Here he performed the chamber operas by Ralph Vaughan Williams , on whom he also wrote scientific articles, in Germany.

His grandfather is the legal scholar Rolf Dannenbring .
