Career

Alpine skiing

Kalhor grew up in the Iranian ski resort of Dizin and started skiing at the age of four. In winter 2005/06 she took part in her first FIS races in alpine skiing in Iran and Turkey . She achieved good placings from the start and celebrated her first victory in the giant slalom in Dizin on April 6th. The next winter she again achieved several podium places in FIS races and in early April 2007 she became Iranian champion in giant slalom. She won a total of seven FIS races in Iran in the 2007/08 season and in March she won the Iranian giant slalom and super-G championships. In April 2008, she started for the first time in the more crowded FIS races in Switzerland, but was only able to place in last place.

In February 2009 Kalhor was one of three Iranians to take part in the World Cup in Val-d'Isère . In the giant slalom she finished 60th last, in the slalom she was disqualified after a goal error in the first round. A week later, Kalhor became Iranian champion in slalom and giant slalom and in the further course of the season she reached several podium places in FIS races in her home country. In the winter of 2009/2010 Kalhor became Iranian champion in giant slalom for the fourth time and won several FIS races. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , Kalhor was the first Iranian woman to take part in the Winter Olympics. At the opening ceremony she was the flag bearer of the Iranian delegation. She finished 60th in giant slalom, 38.28 seconds behind, and 55th in slalom, 35.71 seconds behind. So she was the last of the rated runners.

After further victories in FIS races and four national titles at the beginning of 2011, Kalhor also took part in the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . In the slalom she took 55th place out of 60 rated runners and in the giant slalom 88th place out of 91 rated runners. In 2012 there were further victories in FIS races and three Iranian championship titles.

Grass ski

Kalhor made her first international appearances in grass skiing at the FIS races in the Czech municipality of Branná in August 2005. Her best result was eighth place in the slalom. Four weeks later, she took part in the 2005 World Championships in her home town of Dizin, where she could not keep up with the times of the top runners, but was able to place three times in the top ten. She finished eighth in giant slalom, ninth in slalom, tenth in combination and 13th in Super-G. After she did not take part in any grass ski races in 2006, Kalhor started in a World Cup race for the first time in July 2007 . In the giant slalom in Dizin, in which only very few foreign runners were at the start, she reached second place and thus in the 2007 season, 13th place in the overall ranking with her compatriot Mitra Kalhor, tied on points . In the 2008 season she again took part in a World Cup race in Dizin and this time came eighth in the Super-G and thus in 16th place in the overall classification. She has not yet participated in any other grass ski races.
