Mark Parker (born October 21, 1955 in Poughkeepsie , New York, USA ) has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Nike since January 2006 . He has been Executive Chairman of the company since January 13, 2020. Since 2016 he has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Walt Disney Company .

Life

In 1977 he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University . Parker joined Nike in 1979 as a designer and development manager. Two years later he became director of designs, concepts and development. From 1998 to 2001 he was Vice President, Global Footwear, and then President, Nike Brand . In 2006 he succeeded William Perez as CEO. Parker has a private art collection including works and the like. a. following artists: Andy Warhol , Mark Ryden , Kris Kuksi , Todd Shorr , Tim Biskup , Sas Christian , Sebastian Kruger , Charles Krafft , Scott Musgrove , Michael Leavitt and Randy Regier .

In 2017, Mark Parker ordered a 71% pay cut for himself because Nike laid off 1,000 employees.
