Mark Ryden

Mark Ryden (* 1963 in Medford (Oregon) ) is an American painter and illustrator .

biography

Mark Ryden is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design . There he graduated with a bachelor's degree in illustration in 1987 . He then worked successfully as a commercial graphic artist for ten years and designed well-known album and book covers. During this period, the cover for Danger Danger's debut album of the same name was created. He designed for Michael Jackson Dangerous , for 4 Non Blondes Bigger, Better, Faster, More! , for Red Hot Chili Peppers One Hot Minute , for Aerosmith the cover of Love in an Elevator and for Stephen King's novels Desperation and Regulator .

In 1998 he had his first solo show, The Meat Show, in Pasadena. In 2018 Ryden's painting Dangerous (1991) will be shown in the National Portrait Gallery as part of the exhibition Michael Jackson: On the wall .

He has been married to the painter Marion Peck since 2009.
