Mark Sieczkarek

Mark Sieczkarek (* 1962 in Inverness ) is a Scottish dancer and choreographer .

Mark Sieczkarek received his basic training from 1973 to 1981 at the Royal Ballet School in London . His first professional choreographies were created at the “Scapino Ballet” for children in Amsterdam . After working in the collective “Penta Theater” in Rotterdam from 1983 to 1985, he was engaged for three years in the dance theater troupe of Pina Bausch in Wuppertal . Since 1988 he has been working as a freelance dancer and choreographer and in 1998 founded the “Mark Sieczkarek Company”. The title of the play "Drops of Rain in Perfect Days of June" (1995) is based on a volume of poetry by his partner and actor Caíque Ferreira (1954–1994).

In 1996 Sieczkarek received the sponsorship award of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for young artists and in 1999 the award of the German AIDS Foundation named after Wolfgang Max Faust .
