Mark Titus (born June 25, 1987 in Brownsburg , Indiana ) is an American basketball player from Ohio State University .

Although he is a so-called walk-on who did not receive a scholarship and only stands on the field for one to two minutes per game, he is very well known and popular due to his blog "Club Trillion".

Career

Titus began studying at Ohio State University in the fall of 2006. He also took over the position of team manager of the basketball team. Since Greg Oden had to pause due to an operation on his right wrist, and the Buckeyes only had 9 active players in the squad, Titus was appointed to the squad at the beginning of the 2006/07 season to guarantee regular training for the team.

He is usually used when the game has long been decided and in his four years in the team played an average of 1.4 minutes per game in 32 games.

In the meantime, Titus has become a crowd favorite despite his short playing time and is even cheered by opposing fans and opponents.

Club Trillion

However, Titus gained his fame off the basketball court through his blog " Club Trillion ", which in January 2010 exceeded the 2 million visitor mark. The name indicates a "specialty" Titus'; A "trillion" is achieved by playing one minute in the game and not posting any other statistics, as the scoreboard shows a 1 followed by 21 zeros. In his blog he presents background stories about his life as a basketball player. And describes his everyday life as a rarely used bench player on his team.

He also used the blog to officially register for the NBA draft , but was asked - as the first player ever - to withdraw his registration. He and his blog have appeared several times on the sports channel ESPN , even the renowned NY Times dedicated an article to him.

After his studies, Titus published the book "Don't Put Me In, Coach: My Incredible NCAA Journey from the End of the Bench to the End of the Bench". The work contains anecdotes that he has not yet disclosed due to the strict rules of the NCAA could.
