Mark Weschenfelder

Mark Weschenfelder (* 1982 in Neuhaus am Rennweg ) is a German jazz musician ( saxophone , clarinet , composition ).

Weschenfelder, who initially played at Flimmerfrühstück , completed his artistic studies with Finn Wiesner at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden in spring 2014 with distinction. Then he completed the master class at the Dresden University of Music, where he deepened composition, improvisation and saxophone with Thomas Zoller and Eric Schaefer .

Weschenfelder plays and writes primarily improvised and experimental music. Since 2006 he has released eleven albums and recordings with his own bands, but also the octet by Paul Peuker and with Dora Osterloh's Kite . He is also a founding member of the Offtracks Association and co-organizer of the Offtracks Festival , which first took place in Dresden in 2012.
