Paul Berberich

Paul Berberich (born May 31, 1985 in Lauchhammer ) is a German jazz musician ( alto saxophone , flute , composition ).

Live and act

Berberich grew up in a family of doctors with regular house music. At the age of four he began to play the recorder ; as a child he gained experience in the flute quartet and with a small orchestra. At the age of twelve he switched to the saxophone ; he attended the Kreuzschule and the State Youth Conservatory in order to study with Marko Lackner , Finn Wiesner and Thomas Zoller at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden .

Musicians from Dresden and Berlin have been playing in Berberich's big band CONtrust Jazz Orchestra , which was initially based on Milan Svoboda's Contra Band . Together with guitarist Joachim Wespel and drummer Florian Lauer, he has been part of the collaborative trio Zur Schöne Aussicht for 10 years . He also appears in the saxophone quartet Albis and with his partner, singer Christine Seraphin, in the band SoulSom . He can also be heard on albums with Sebastian Lohse , the Lena Sundermeyer Band, Mine and with Mark Weschenfelder's twittering machine .
