Career

Kopilas started playing soccer at SV Magstadt . In 1994 he moved to the youth department of VfB Stuttgart and remained there until the end of 2001. After a six-month guest appearance at city rivals Stuttgarter Kickers , Kopilas moved to SSV Reutlingen at the age of 19 . After the Reutlinger club's relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga and the withdrawal of their license for the Regionalliga Süd , Kopilas immediately became a regular in 2003 when they started over in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . During the season Kopilas was appointed to the Croatian U21 national team several times. At the end of the season, which finished the SSV Reutlingen in the middle of the table, Kopilas moved to the regional division SV Wehen . In order to fall under the U-21 contingent specified by the DFB during labor , Kopilas applied for German citizenship before the change, which he was also granted.

In the first season at Wehen Kopilas only made 14 appearances, he became a regular player in the second season. In 2006/07 Kopilas was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with SV Wehen. In combination with the defensive forces Dajan Simac , Kristjan Glibo , Torge Hollmann and Nikolaos Nakas, the team conceded only 25 goals in 34 games, Kopilas' defensive performances were a guarantee for promotion. Even in the first professional season of his career, Kopilas is one of the regulars of his club. Kopilas scored his first league goal on the first day of the 2007/08 season in a 3-2 away win against Hoffenheim.

After the Wehen descent in the 2008/09 season, Kopilas moved to the Kickers Offenbach for the following season . There he was appointed team captain before the start of the 2010/11 season. The contract with Kopilas was not extended by the OFC after the end of the season.

After being out of a club for six months, Kopilas joined the third division SV Darmstadt 98 in early January 2012 , but could not prevail against the lilies and left SV 98 after the second half of the season. On November 12, 2012 Kopilas signed a contract with the third division Rot-Weiß Erfurt until the end of the season, which was not extended. Then he was again without a club for half a year. In January 2014 his former coach Djuradj Vasic brought him to SV Wiesbaden in the Hessenliga. At the end of the 2015/16 season , the club's management decided to withdraw from the league and Kopilas moved to Rot-Weiss Frankfurt .
