Market hall in Milly-la-Forêt

The covered market in Milly-la-Forêt , a French town in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region , was built in 1479. The market hall on the Place du Marché has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1923 .

The landlord Louis Mallet de Graville had the market hall built. The king granted the privilege of one market day per week and three fairs per year.

The building with a floor area of 730 square meters consists of a long hall that is divided into three naves by wooden pillars on sandstone plinths.

In 1858 the city bought the building.
