Markus Böttcher

Markus Böttcher (born July 6, 1964 in Hennef ) is a German actor .

Life

Markus Böttcher studied acting and directing at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg from 1983 to 1987 . During his studies he did internships at the Salzburg Festival , at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin, and at the Théâtre National Populaire , Paris . From 1987 to 1988 he was engaged as an actor and assistant director at the Schillertheater (Berlin) .

Markus Böttcher became known through the crime series Der Alte , in which he played the head of forensic intelligence "Werner Riedmann". He worked in a total of 280 episodes of the series from 1986 to 2015 before the production company informed him and Pierre Sanoussi-Bliss that there were no more plans with him. On the other hand, Böttcher sued the Munich Labor Court at the end of 2014. He was unsuccessful in all three instances: The lawsuit against the production company was dismissed in the last instance by the Federal Labor Court at the end of August 2017.

Markus Böttcher and his fellow actor Charles M. Huber , who worked with Böttcher in Der Alte from 1986 to 1997 , founded the development aid association Afrika Direkt eV, which is primarily involved in Senegal .
