Markus Gehrlein
Markus Gehrlein (born July 26, 1957 in Saarbrücken ) is a German lawyer with a doctorate , honorary professor at the University of Mannheim and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .
Career
After completing his legal training, Gehrlein joined the higher judicial service of the state of Baden-Württemberg in early August 1985 . After five months as a trial reporter at the Heidelberg Regional Court , he switched to the Saarland judicial service on January 1, 1986 . He initially worked as a trial reporter at the Saarbrücken District Court and from December 1986 at the Saarlouis District Court . From January 1988 to mid-July 1995 he was seconded to the Federal Ministry of Justice and as a research assistant to the Federal Constitutional Court at the judge of the Federal Constitutional Court in Winter and then to the Federal Court of Justice. During this time he was appointed judge at the Saarbrücken Regional Court in August 1988 . Since his appointment as judge at the Higher Regional Court on July 15, 1995, he has held a judge's office at the Saarland Higher Regional Court . In 1996 he did his doctorate at the University of Saarbrücken on the subject of the criminal liability of Eastern spies on the test bench of constitutional and international law . Since July 7, 2003 he has been a judge at the Federal Court of Justice, where he was initially assigned to the 2nd Civil Senate , which is responsible in particular for company law . In 2007 he moved to IX, which is responsible for insolvency law . Civil Senate , of which he has been a member since then.
Gehrlein has been honorary professor at the University of Mannheim since 2005 .
