Carl-Heinz Witt

Carl-Heinz Witt (* approx. 1964 ) is a German law scholar and university professor .

Life

Witt attended the Alsterdorfer Strasse elementary school in Hamburg from 1970 to 1974 and then the Wilhelm-Gymnasium there until 1983 . After completing his military service in the German Navy , he completed an apprenticeship as a banker in Hamburg until 1987 . This was followed by studying law at the University of Passau until 1991 . He passed the first state examination in 1991. From 1991 to 1996 he was a research assistant at the chair for civil law, commercial and economic law of Jan Wilhelm at the University of Passau . In 1996, he was initially the second state examination and was on 13 December 1996 in Passau with the dissertation takeovers of public companies and transparency of ownership to Dr. jur. PhD .

Witt worked as a lawyer in Frankfurt am Main from 1996 to 1998 and completed a master's degree in Common Law at Georgetown University in 1998/1999 . In 1999 he received a position as a research assistant at the Institute for German and European Company and Business Law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg at the chair of Peter Hommelhoff . From 2002 to 2004 he was a research fellow of the German Research Foundation before he qualified as a professor and was appointed a private lecturer on December 21, 2005 with the text The group taxation - attempt to further develop the law of the tax group . This was followed by substitute professorships at the universities of Osnabrück , Heidelberg, Bonn and Erfurt.

Witt was appointed adjunct professor at Heidelberg University in 2010 . In 2011 he followed a call as professor at the Stuttgart Media University and in 2012 another call to the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen and Halbach endowed professorship for civil and corporate law at the political science faculty of the University of Erfurt . There he succeeded Hans-Friedrich Müller .
