Markus Hammer (District Administrator)

Markus Georg Nikolaus Karl Konstantin Hammer (born February 18, 1834 in Traben-Trarbach , † April 18, 1901 in Wiesbaden ) was a Prussian district administrator.

Life

Markus Hammer was born as the son of the married couple Franz Georg Hammer (justice of the peace) and Francisca Alexandrina Pottgeisser. After attending grammar school in Koblenz , he studied law and did his military service as a one-year volunteer with the 8th Artillery Brigade. He was an officer, most recently a major, and took part in the wars of 1866 and 1870/1871 . On February 19, 1876, he came into the municipal administration of the parish bailiff in Rendsburg and was appointed parish bailiff on April 19, 1877.

On July 26, 1878, the commissioning of the municipal administration of the district office of Meschede followed. He passed the examination for district administrator on January 12, 1880, so that on January 28, 1880 he was finally appointed district administrator of the Meschede district. On September 6, 1897, Hammer was dismissed from civil service on application. On May 17, 1864, he married Elvire Bergenthal in Warstein.
