Markus Horn (basketball player)

Markus Horn (born September 23,  1971 ) is a former German basketball player .

career

Horn played at SC Fast-Break Leverkusen, Bayer Leverkusen , then FC Schalke 04 and TuS Herten in the 2nd Bundesliga . With Herten, the two-meter-tall winger was active in the basketball Bundesliga from 1995  , and in February 1998 the team, which had meanwhile been renamed Ruhr Devils and moved to Oberhausen  , was withdrawn from the Bundesliga. Overall, he played in Herten (or the Ruhr Devils) from 1991 to 1998. From 1998 to 2000 he played for the ETB Essen and then with the Hertener Löwen, the successor club of TuS Herten, in the 2nd regional league. He made it to the 1st regional league with the team.

After his playing career, Horn became involved with the Hertener Löwen as a manager, during his tenure the team rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2005. He stayed in office until 2007. In the same year he switched to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA as sports director at ETB Essen .

In the summer of 2013 he left Essen and from July 2013 worked again for the Hertener Löwen in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB  , where he took up the post of sports manager. In November 2014, Horn , who was a full-time asset advisor, resigned from his position in Herten.
