Markus Arne Lammers (born July 7, 1986 in Wildeshausen ) is a German chess player who holds the FIDE title of International Master .

Life

Lammers studied law in Munich and has been a fully qualified lawyer since 2014 . He lives in Hamburg.

successes

Lammers made his first attempts at chess at SC Dünsen. In 2002 he moved to Delmenhorster SK , for which he later played in the 2nd and in the 2010/11 season on the fourth board in the 1st Bundesliga . This time was interrupted by a two-year guest appearance in the Regionalliga Süd-Ost-Bayern at SV Ilmmünster.

Lammers achieved numerous successes at the level of the Bremen chess association. There he was, for example, U-18 youth champion and rapid chess master. At the Neckar Open 2010 he reached second place. He also won the 6th London Chess Classic Open.

Since the 2011/12 season he has been playing for the Munich club MSA Zugzwang 82 . With this team he won the championship in the 2nd Bundesliga Group East in the 2015/16 season and subsequently played in the first German chess league until the 2018/19 season.

He had his highest Elo number in March 2011 with 2405. This was the only time that he has reached the Elo limit of 2400, which is necessary for the award of the title of International Master. He achieved the necessary standards in August 2008 in Barcelona, ​​in July 2009 at an IM-B tournament of the First Saturday series in Budapest, which he won, and in April 2010 at the Neckar Open.
