Markus Stoffels

Markus Stoffels (born December 30, 1963 in Bonn ) is a German lawyer and professor at Heidelberg University .

Life

After high school and basic military service, Stoffels studied law at the University of Bonn from 1984 to 1990 . In 1990/91 he received a doctoral scholarship from the “Working Group on Economics and Law” of the Donors' Association for German Science . He then worked until 1993 as a research assistant with Peter Hanau at the Research Institute for Social Law at the University of Cologne . In 1993 he was at the University of Cologne with a supervised Hanau work for "breach of contract by the employee" Dr. iur. PhD. After passing the second state examination in law, Stoffels became a research assistant in 1994 and, at the end of 1995, a research assistant at the FernUniversität Hagen , where he was responsible for the advanced training project “Law for Patent Attorneys . In 2001 he completed his habilitation with a study supervised by Ulrich Eisenhardt and Ulrich Preis on the subject of "Legally unregulated debt contracts - legal finding and content control" . In the same year he accepted a chair for civil law at the University of Bonn. In 2003 he received offers from the FernUniversität Hagen and the University of Passau , from which he accepted the latter. He then became the holder of the chair for civil law, labor law, commercial and corporate law, which was previously held by Wolfgang Hromadka .

In 2007, Stoffels moved to the University of Osnabrück , where he held the chair for civil law , labor law , and commercial and corporate law . In 2011 he turned down an offer at the University of Mannheim and accepted an offer at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg in the summer semester 2012.
