Wolfgang Hromadka (born December 26, 1937 in Aussig / Ústí nad Labem ) is a German lawyer and professor emeritus at the University of Passau .

Life

Hromadka spent his childhood in Aussig, Heringen / Helme and Frankfurt am Main . In 1957 he passed the Abitur at Heinrich von Gagern Gymnasium in Frankfurt am Main. In the same year, Hromadka began studying law in Frankfurt , which he later continued at the University of Munich and the Free University of Berlin . After the first state examination in law in 1962 he became a trainee lawyer in the OLG district of Frankfurt am Main. In 1969 he completed his legal training with the Second State Examination. Hromadka then became a research assistant to Hans Peter at the University of Zurich , where he became a doctor of law in January 1969 with the study The development of the bargaining chip principle in the 18th and 19th centuries. iur. received his doctorate. In 1990 Hromadka was visiting professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin . He turned down an offer at this university in 1992. Since 1997 he has been visiting professor at the Charles University in Prague and since 1999 a member of the association committee of the German Labor Court Association.

From 1977 Hromadka was an honorary judge at the Labor Court in Frankfurt am Main , from 1979 an honorary judge at the Hessian State Labor Court and has been an honorary judge at the Federal Labor Court since 1982 . Since 2003 he has also been a judge at the administrative court of the Bank for International Settlements in Basel .

Hromadka was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen in 2001 . In 1998 he was honored with the commemorative medal on the occasion of the 650th anniversary of Charles University in Prague and in 2000 with the Medal of Honor of the University of Pilsen. Since 2003, Hromadka has been the holder of the Golden Badge of Honor of the Association of Employed Academics and Executives of the Chemical Industry . Since 1998 Hromadka has been the spokesman for the journalistic advisory board of the journal Arbeit und Arbeitsrecht .
