The Hessian State Labor Court , a court of labor jurisdiction , is the highest instance in questions of labor law at the level of the State of Hesse .

The court is located in the administrative center of the former Gutleut barracks in Gutleutviertel . The address is: Gutleutstrasse 130, 60327 Frankfurt am Main .

history

On October 1, 1946, the Hessian State Labor Court was founded on the basis of a decree of the military government of Greater Hesse. The court was initially equipped with two chambers and was part of the Hessian Ministry of Labor and Welfare. Until 1999, responsibility for labor jurisdiction in Hesse remained with the Ministry of Social Affairs , since then the Ministry of Justice has been responsible.

In 2007 the court moved its seat, which it had had for many years at Adickesallee 36 in Frankfurt am Main, to the administrative center that had been set up in 1994 in the former Gutleut barracks.

Tasks and function

As a state labor court, the court forms the second instance of labor jurisdiction in Hesse. It is thus for appeals and appeals against decisions of lying in his district labor courts subject matter jurisdiction .

Superordinate and subordinate courts

The Hessian State Labor Court, like every State Labor Court, has sole authority over the Federal Labor Court. A total of seven labor courts are subordinate, namely the labor courts in Darmstadt , Frankfurt am Main , Fulda , Gießen , Kassel , Offenbach am Main and Wiesbaden .

The first president of the Hessian State Labor Court was Gerhard Müller (1946–1954). He was followed by Haberkorn (1954–1961), Joachim (1962–1979), Fischer (1979–1987), Keil (1987–2001), Koch (2002–2009), Peter Bader (2010–2013) and Gabriele Jörchel (2013– 2019)
