history

There were merchant and trade courts since 1918. On July 1, 1935, the "Regional Labor Court at the Saarbrücken Regional Court " was established. On April 1, 1947, the legal order on the establishment of labor courts and the procedure in labor disputes on the basis of Control Council Act No. 21 resulted in the establishment of a state labor court as a second instance with only one chamber . From January 1, 1948, the court was active with general and specialist chambers on the basis of Section 17 ArbGG 1926.

With the Franco-Saarland Justice Convention on January 3, 1948, a Franco-Saarland Senate of the Saarbrücken Court of Appeal was responsible in the second instance for matters in which French legislation was directly applicable or to be taken into account. On May 20, 1953, this Senate was replaced by the Court of Justice of the Franco-Saar Union and the Supreme Court of the Franco-Saar Union. With the introduction of the Labor Court Act 1953 on January 1, 1957, the appeal senate at the Higher Regional Court was replaced by the Federal Labor Court. The last revision judgment of the Saarland revision senate in labor matters at the OLG was issued on October 16, 1957.

The final integration of the Saarland into the legal area of the Federal Republic of Germany took place through the law introducing federal law in the Saarland of June 30, 1959, on July 5, 1959.
