Whitney Eve Port (born March 4, 1985 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American reality TV actress, fashion designer and model . She became known through the MTV series The Hills and The City .

life and career

Port was born in 1985 in Los Angeles and grew up there. She is the daughter of Jeffery and Vicki Lyn Port. She has one older and two younger sisters and a younger brother. Her father owns a clothing line called Swarm . Port comes from a Jewish family. She first attended Warner Avenue Elementary School and later the Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences . She graduated from the University of Southern California in 2007 .

2006 Port was one of the four leading ladies of MTV - reality television series The Hills alongside Lauren Conrad , Audrina Patridge and Heidi Montag hired. During the first two seasons of the show, she gained her first experience as a model . Among other things, it ran at a DKNY fashion show at Los Angeles Fashion Week . She has also appeared on the magazine covers of Teen Vogue , Rolling Stone , Seventeen and Cosmopolitan . In 2006, Port began working with Lauren Conrad for Teen Vogue magazine . She left Teen Vogue in 2007 and joined People's Revolution public relations firm, led by Kelly Cutrone . Her former work colleague Lauren Conrad followed her while filming the third season of The Hills .

In 2008 she moved to New York after getting a job with the fashion label Diane von Furstenberg . As part of this move, Port left the series The Hills at the end of the fourth season. In March 2008, Port founded her own clothing line called Whitney Eve , which was presented at New York Fashion Week in September 2009. Her further career was followed in the The Hills spin-off series The City . The series revolved around Port and her work at the fashion label Diane von Furstenberg . At her side was, among other things, the It girl Olivia Palermo . In contrast to The Hills , her private life also played a major role. The first season of the reality show ran for the first time from December 2008 to March 2009 and was later extended by ten episodes to September 2009. In April 2009 it was announced that she had left her job at Diane von Furstenberg to return to People's Revolution . A second season of The City was officially confirmed in December of that year . In October 2010, MTV announced that it would discontinue the series after two seasons. In late 2010, Port moved back to Los Angeles.
