Markus Tschank

Markus Tschank (born January 6, 1979 in Vienna ) is an Austrian lawyer and politician of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). From November 9, 2017 to October 22, 2019, he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

Markus Tschank studied law at the University of Vienna (Mag. Iur.) Between 1998 and 2003 with a stay at the Université Paris 2 Panthéon Assas in Paris in 2002/03 . From 2004 to 2006 Tschank studied at the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris (Master in European Business, MEB). He then wrote his dissertation (The European Community and its Legislative Competencies in the Field of Corporate Law) in law (Dr. iur) at the University of Vienna from 2007 to 2009 . The dissertation was awarded the Walther Kastner Prize of the Association of Banks and Bankers for excellent scientific work in 2009.

Between 2005 and 2011 Tschank worked in various law firms. In 2011 he passed his bar exam. He has been a freelance lawyer since 2012 and has repeatedly worked in this role for the FPÖ. His legal specialization lies in corporate, real estate and commercial law. In addition, he held supervisory board functions at companies in the field of renewable energies . From July 2016 to April 2019 he was a member of the supervisory board of BELIG Beteiligungs- und Liegenschafts GmbH , a subsidiary of the Burgenland State Holding .

Markus Tschank became politically active in the Ring of Freedom Youth at an early stage and was elected its deputy federal chairman in 2003.

Since 2017 he has been FPÖ district party chairman for the inner city .

On November 9, 2017, he was sworn in as a member of the Austrian National Council. After the National Council election in 2019 , he resigned from the National Council.
