Markus van Baerle

Markus van Baerle (born June 11, 1930 in Basel ; † January 14, 1987 in Liestal ; resident in Münchenstein and Basel) was a Swiss entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ).

Life

He was born the son of Alexander , entrepreneur and district administrator, and Rosa Altermatt. After an apprenticeship as a soap boiler in his father's company in Münchenstein, he completed his training as a chemist at the HTL Winterthur . In 1957 he became operations manager, 1968 director and 1976 board member of the family business van Baerle & Cie. AG . In 1957 he married Erica Sonderegger.

Van Baerle was President of the Union of Swiss Soap and Detergent Manufacturers and a board member of the Swiss Society for the Chemical Industry and the Federation of Baselland Industrialists . He was a member of numerous boards of directors.

From 1974 to 1983 he was a member of the district administrator of the canton of Basel-Landschaft , which he presided over in 1978/79. From 1983 he was Councilor and head of the construction and agricultural management.

Max van Baerle died of a heart attack during an election rally .
