Marlene Sinnig (born December 11, 1984 in Rostock ) is a German rower.

Career

Marlene Sinnig began her sporting career at ORC Rostock and later switched to Crefelder RC , she is in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr.

In 2002 she was second at the Junior World Championships with the German eighth . In 2003, the silver medal in the four without a helmsman followed at the U23 world regatta . In 2005 she took part in the rowing World Cup with the German team Frauenachter and finished sixth at the world championships . In 2006 she won the World Cup in Munich with the eighth, at the World Championships in Eton she competed with the uncontrolled foursome and finished sixth. In 2007, she returned to eighth place and finished fifth in the World Championship regatta ; at the European Championships in 2007 , she won the silver medal with eighth place. She started the 2008 Olympic season in eighth place, but was ultimately not nominated for the Olympic Games.

Since 2009, Marlene Sinnig has been rowing with Kerstin Hartmann in twos without a helmsman , the two also won the German championship title from 2009 to 2011. Internationally, the two finished fourth at the 2009 World Championships , won silver at the 2010 European Championships and finished sixth at the 2010 World Championships . In 2011, the two missed the A-final at the 2011 World Championships and, in tenth place, they also missed the direct Olympic qualification for 2012. They made up for this on May 22, 2012 with a victory at the qualifying regatta in Lucerne. Hartmann and Sinnig took sixth place in the Olympic regatta on Dorney Lake .

A year later, at the 2013 World Rowing Championships in Chungju, they finished eighth, and at the 2013 European Rowing Championships in Seville, they finished second.
