Marliese Alfken

Marliese Alfken (* 29. October 1933 in Goslar , † 12. July 2016 ) was a German politician of the SPD .

Life and work

After graduating from high school and attending the commercial college, Alfken, who was of Protestant faith, trained as a foreign language correspondent at the Berlitz School . She then worked for various companies in the commercial sector and as a translator.

Political party

Alfken joined the SPD in 1974 because of Willy Brandt's Ostpolitik . In the same year she was elected to the board of the Stormarn district association; in the 1990s she was temporarily deputy district chairwoman. From 1981 to 1987 she was a member of the state executive committee of the SPD in Schleswig-Holstein . She was a member of the local executive committee in Barsbüttel .

MPs

Alfken was a member of the district council in the Stormarn district from 1978 to 1988 . From 1988 to 1992 and again from October 19, 1992, when she replaced Helmut Mikelskis , until 1996 she was a member of the state parliament in Schleswig-Holstein. In the Kiel state parliament she was housing policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group. The state parliament elected her, although she was not yet a member of the parliament, as a member of the eighth federal assembly , which on May 23, 1984 elected Richard von Weizsäcker as federal president . From 2001 to 2003 she was the community representative in Barsbüttel .
